New patent granted to Apple patents for voice recognition software

Apple has patented a “method and apparatus for producing speech recognition software that is designed to allow users to interact with a computer-generated voice, and the method and apparatus, for generating speech recognition output, in a manner consistent with a voice input device” in the Apple patents.

This is not the first time Apple has trademarked its patented technology in the US.

In 2012, the US Federal Trade Commission sued Apple for trademark infringement over the Apple Watch software patent.

The filing comes just days after Apple released an update to iOS 11, which included support for the new voice recognition patent, as well as support for Apple’s facial recognition technology for fingerprint recognition.
